Another Quick Knee Update For A Great Day.

Yeah, I’ve talked about my knee a lot. I am trying to find a rhythm for this blog that isn’t just copycatting other blogs and content.

As I hope you can see, I am a great source of knowledge for the video business, and have gotten a bit morose and angry over recent developments. I need to get my refocus on, and get ready to get back to work for 2010 and beyond.

One of those ways is to brag about my knees surgeries, since they are a definite sign for me that things will get better, and hopefully, something there helps you, as well.

Today, I saw my knee surgeon (or as I refer to him “GENIUS”) DR. CARL DEIRMENGIAN. This was the post-op follow up for my right knee replacement.

It has been 17 days. His words to me felt great. He said that my range of motion in my knee is amazing. My recovery is moving along excellently, and my leg strength is very good. Picture a big smile (a real one, not one of those EXTENZE GUY smiles) on my face the entire day.

I got the staples out, I can stop wearing the TED Stockings for circulation, and I can stop taking the Oxycoton, but I still will need the Percocet for pain management over the next few weeks.

I can also sleep carefully on my side!!! WooHoo!!!

He warned me that there will be stiffness and pain for a couple of months as it works itself into shape, but right now, I feel wonderful.

The great payoff is that it is full speed ahead for my left knee replacement on 2/3.

That means FULL SPEED AHEAD for getting back to work.

I did PT later in the day, and now use the cane exclusively, putting the walker in temporary mothballs. I did more steps and a walk outside, and then I rode to my apartment again today. One more in-home PT, and the a few outpatient PT visits.

Snow coming tomorrow, and yes, I feel it in my knee.

And I don’t have to shovel!!!

All in all, another great day.

And in a way, I owe this great day to all the great friends here, on Dunder Mifflin, at my old place of employment, in the video industry, and especially, my sister and my family. I am making it because you have convinced me I will make it.

Much love to all.
